We’ve had a lot of feedback that broken links are a major source of frustration with Library Search, and the main culprits are links to our large database subscriptions, such as Academic Search Complete and Business Source Complete.
Trialing new products
We have arranged a trial to a competitor of these two databases to see if this improves your experience of broken links and also if you prefer the content. Our trial is with ProQuest Central and is live until 31st March 2016. Articles from ProQuest Central journals are available in Library Search, or can be directly searched on their platform. We'd like to know which you prefer, as well as your general feedback. Please provide your feedback via our survey.
More improvements to come
This is the first in a series of explorations looking at your searching preferences. Over the next few months we will be exploring further options to improve linking, and will also be looking at how you would like Library Search to work.
