Where to study

  Reffie letter O

When you are trying to study, it is important to find a spot that suits you, whether that's in The Hive library, the 24 hour Peirson Centre at St Johns, the PC suite at Riverside or the cafe at City Campus. Do you prefer to get together with study buddies or work quietly among the books? The Hive has a range of study spaces on offer to meet all your needs, and is open 8.30am until 10pm, 7 days a week (excluding most bank holidays), suiting both early birds and night owls.

Find out more about The Hive and other university study spaces here. While you're studying you'll probably want access to computers, printing and wifi, and these are all available in The Hive, too.

Settle into The Hive

In The Hive, most of the books are on Level 3. Spend some time finding your subject area on Level 3 using the map, and use our self-guided tour to find your way around your library.

Find books and ebooks

Revisit your library induction any time with the Library Services Bitesize playlist on YouTube. From borrowing a book to searching Library Search, we've got it covered. When you are ready, dip into some other videos and learn about ebooks, journal articles and subject-relevant resources.

Ask a question

Email, text, phone, Facebook or Twitter: just ask. Your Academic Liaison Librarians and the askalibrarian team are always ready to help with your queries about using the library, reading for your assignments, and academic referencing. Our FAQ section is a great place to try first - our most popular question has almost 20000 hits.
