ICT Support

In The Hive all PCs have Supernova (screen reading software). JAWS (screen reading with Braille functionality) is available on loan.

Across all other campuses student networked PCs have accessibility software including Supernova, Texthelp (proofreading software) and Inspiration (mind mapping software).

  • TextHelp and Jaws are available on USBs and can be borrowed from the ICT desk in the Peirson Centre
  • You may need headphones for screen reading software; these can be purchased from Firstpoint or Level One at The Hive
  • The Disability & Dyslexia Service also loan laptops and recording devices. Contact Firstpoint for information.

For those new to using assistive technology the Wyvern Training Portal provides short training videos for a wide range of software including those available on our networked PCs

Many students may already have their own equipment prior to beginning their studies. This portal enables users to get the best out of their assistive technology; as well as introducing them to new software.
