As a member of the University, you can borrow books from The Hive and also all Worcestershire County Council libraries using your student ID card.  Your loan allocations are shown in the following table:

Renewals can be made via your library account.  You will be sent an email reminder two days before your items are due back, however it is your responsibility to remember to return or renew books on time. 

Unless a book is reserved you can renew it up to 99 times.  *University Short Loan items cannot be renewed.

 

Services

Borrow books by post

Fill out the book request form and email it to ilr@worc.ac.uk. You are responsible for the safe and timely return of the book.

Get articles by post

If you would like a photocopy of an article held in our collection, please fill out the journal article request form.  Post the copyright declaration to The Hive

Books and articles not held in The Hive

If you are looking for an item we do not stock in The Hive or Worcestershire County Council libraries, you can make an inter-library request

Use a university library closer to you

You may be able to use university libraries closer to home by applying to join the SCONUL Access scheme.  Before deciding which library to visit, check Copac, a catalogue of many university libraries, to see which one has books of interest.

 

Overdues, fines and charges

Please see the allocations for details of fines.  In the unfortunate event of your fines reaching £11 your account will be blocked.  This means you will be unable to borrow any further items or renew existing items until the fines are paid.

Fines can be paid in person in The Hive or at Firstpoint or online via the UPrint link on your student portal.

If you have lost an item you will be charged a replacement fee of £25 for standard items, there may be an additional charge for other items.

If you do have an issue with fines or lost items please contact us as soon as possible at askalibrarian@worc.ac.uk.
