If the answer to any of the above questions is ‘yes’, then read on!
We’ve started asking students to join us at interviews for professional library staff. These are the folks who you might meet in lectures, seminars, or other meetings at the University. These interviews always have a work related exercise as part of the recruitment process and this is where we ask you to get involved. That might mean watching a presentation, contributing to a focus group, or even, as on one memorable occasion, a form of speed dating!
We use the results of the exercise, with your feedback, to make sure we’re hiring the best staff. In turn, you get to learn about how recruitment works, without the pressure of being an interviewee yourself. And it’s a great piece of evidence to use in your own job applications.
