In The Hive, all computers have Supernova (screen reading software). JAWS (screen reading with Braille functionality) is available on loan from level one.
On campus, student networked computers have accessibility software installed, including Supernova (magnifier and screen reader), Texthelp (proofreading software) and Inspiration (mind mapping software). You can also borrow TextHelp and JAWS on USBs from the ICT desk in the Peirson Centre. You may need headphones for screen reading software; these can be purchased from Firstpoint. The Disability & Dyslexia Service also loan laptops and recording devices.
If you are new to using assistive technology, the Wyvern training portal provides short training videos for a wide range of software including those available on Hive and University computers. This portal will help you get the best out of assistive technology as well as introducing you to new software.
