The following databases contain legal journals on topics such as employment, corporate, financial, accounting and tax law.

FAME  is the go-to database for company data for UK private companies with a turnover of over £6 million. Find financial accounts, compare companies against each other, and discover company ownership. Remember, some companies may not be trading as separate entities, but may be part of a larger group. Case studies

Case studies are often used in business courses to illustrate management problems. They are usually written by academic institutions or professional bodies and intended to be used as teaching material. Some case studies are based on real companies; some are entirely fictitious and designed to illustrate a particular situation. Use Business Source Complete adding the phrase "case studies" or "case method” in your search.

The Case Centre

The Case Centre is an independent, not-for-profit organisation dedicated to promoting the case method in business education. Some cases are free, but most have a charge. You must register as a student or an educator to access content and to order case studies that have a charge.

Office for National Statistics  UK's largest independent producer of official statistics and is the recognised national statistical institute for the UK

UK Data Service  data from the last six censuses from 1961 through to 2011 and some census data for 2021

Bank of England  the Bank compiles and publishes a range of monetary and financial statistics. These include domestic banking statistics, external finance statistics and international banking statistics

Data.gov.uk  over 5,400 datasets available, from all central government departments and a number of other public sector bodies and local authorities

The Economics Network Useful source of economic data mostly freely available online from the economist John Sloman

The Guardian data blog latest data news, comment and analysis from the Guardian

Statista  free to search, Statista provides statistics, forecasts, studies, and sources on over 80,000 topics. The Statista database consists of market data from over 22,500 UK, European, North and South American and Asian sources on more than 170 major industries. Log in to Statista from a Hive computer to access the full reports.

LinkedIn Learning is an elearning and cpd resource with latest software, creative, and business skills training through high-quality instructional videos.

Business and Intellectual Property Centre (BIPC) Worcestershire libraries provide a business support and signposting service for local pre-start, early start and growth businesses.

You can access key databases from the Business Resources tab, such as COBRA (Complete Business Reference Adviser), an encyclopaedia of practical information for starting, running and managing a small business. Suitable for pre-start and start-up businesses, it provides support and guidance for those initial planning stages, helping you to understand what is needed to get started.
