The Hive is a fully accessible building, with height adjustable desks and braille signage. The building has step free access and lifts to all levels.

Level 1: The Atrium. Conversational voice

Noise levels

Noise levels may be above average at the following times for activities in the children’s library:

Registration Services host several wedding ceremonies on Wednesdays. Small groups of people gather on level 1 before and after each wedding.

Food and drink

You’re welcome to bring your own drinks with lids and cold food. Our cafe sells hot and cold food and drinks. Please don't eat your own food in the cafe. You can get a 10% discount with a UW student or staff card.

Permitted: cold food and drink; hot drinks with lids on; phone calls and conversation; hot food purchased and consumed in the cafe

Level 0: Shared Study. Conversational voice

Noise levels may be above average during infrequent events including school visits and library tours; please enquire with library staff if you wish to avoid these times. 

Registration Services hold several wedding ceremonies in the Glass Room on some Wednesdays. The Glass Room is closed to the general public on these occasions.

Level 2: Explore the Past and BIPC. Conversational voice
 

Facilities and features

Explore the Past: Worcestershire County Council's Archive and Archaeology service Study spaces including nooks quiet and group study
Meeting rooms 1-6* Toilets and accessible toilets
Printer and photocopier Drinking water
Worcester Business and IP Centre (BIPC) Lift access to all floors
Research Collections  

* Rooms 2-6 have AV equipment and hearing loops. 

All meeting rooms can be booked by students for up to two hours presentation practice by emailing the Hive admin team.

If you are using The Hive and need a private space for prayer, please ask a member of staff and they will direct you to a room if available.

Permitted: cold food and drink; hot drinks with lids on; mobile phones on silent or vibrate only; phone calls and conversations; attneding online lectures with headphones on. Not permitted: hot food

Level 3: Read, learn, imagine. Quiet or whisper voice
