Making your research article Open Access (OA) means that the results are available to everyone for free, under conditions that enable it to be re-used and built upon.
Our Open Access Policy encourages you to publish OA where possible. This also makes it REF (Research Excellence Framework) compliant.

Read and Publish (R&P) is a form of publishing agreement with no cost to you as the author or to your readers. Library Services meet any Article Processing Charges (APCs) through our R&P subscriptions. To qualify, the lead author needs to be from the University of Worcester.
All the following agreements cover research articles. If you are publishing a different kind of article, get in touch.

To avoid any unexpected invoices, check your chosen journal with us before submitting your manuscript.
If you need to publish in a journal not covered by a Read and Publish agreement, you can apply for University APC funding. This will be reviewed by the Pro Vice Chancellor for Research.
