Springer Read & Publish agreement

The University, along with other UK HE Institutions and Jisc, have been negotiating a “Read and Publish” agreement with Springer which will allow us to continue accessing all Springer journal articles and for our researchers to publish with them. 

The aim of the new agreement is to:   

• Reduce and constrain costs 
• Provide full and immediate open access publishing 
• Aid compliance with funder open access requirements 
• Be transparent, fair, and reasonable 
• Deliver improvements in service, workflows, and discovery 
• Have Nature research and Palgrave journals be inclusive of the R&P package 

 
For the moment, we can continue to access Springer journals as normal. But as this negotiation is ongoing and our current agreement has come to an end, we are advising affiliates of the University to contact us before submitting a manuscript with Springer.
