No more library fines

Library books with and without blue stickers on the spine

Yes, you read that right. We've scrapped library fines for all University members.

You can borrow up to 12 University High Demand (2 week/ blue sticker) books and 12 other books (3 week/ no sticker). We’ll automatically renew items on your account up to nine times, providing they are not reserved by another borrower. We’ll email you to confirm whether your items have been auto-renewed. Check your university email regularly to keep up to date.

If someone else has reserved a book, you'll need to bring it back so they can have a turn.

We strongly encourage you to bring your books back when you've finished with them. Done the assignment? Bring the books back. Book not relevant to you? Bring it back. Changed your mind about reading it? Bring it back. You get the idea.

If your book is overdue, a charge of £12 (rising to £30) will block you from borrowing or renewing other items. So bring your books back.

Worcestershire County Council chargeable items (AV), and UW inter-library requests are not included in auto-renewals and must be renewed and paid for separately. Previously accrued charges may remain on accounts. There is more information on our borrowing services page
