If you're studying over the Christmas break, Library Services are still here to help.

Visiting The Hive

You can reserve and collect books and book study spaces and PCs at The Hive.

The Hive's Christmas opening times are:

Christmas Eve 9am- 1pm
Christmas Day Closed
Boxing Day Closed
Sunday 27 December Closed
Monday 28 December Closed
Tuesday 29 December 9am- 6pm
Wednesday 30 December 9am- 6pm
New Year's Eve 9am- 5pm
New Year's Day Closed
Sunday 2 January 9am- 6pm (return to normal opening hours)

The earliest due date for books borrowed over the Christmas break will be Friday 8 January. Renew items already on loan by logging into you library account. Books can be renewed up to nine times, providing they have not been reserved by another borrower.

Accessing online resources

You can access ebooks, databases and online journals as normal over the Christmas break. If you have difficulty accessing anything you need, please contact askalibrarian.

We will be here to help via email Monday 21- Thursday 24 December (closing at midday on Christmas Eve) and Tuesday 29- Thursday 31 December.

Live chat will be available between 1- 3pm on Monday 21- Wednesday 23 December and Tuesday 29- Wednesday 30 December, as well as between 10am- 12pm on 24 and 31 December.

Accessing other Library Services

The Inter library requests, Books by post, Digitisation and Alternative formats services are all closed over the Christmas break and will reopen on Monday 4 January. If you have an urgent enquiry, please contact askalibrarian.
